Adjustments in our Clinic
One size does not fit all, so Dr. Dorland is trained in several techniques. Depending on the nature of your interference or condition he will use the techniques that he expects will clinically bring you the quickest relief.
The adjustments are low force, using an instrument called the Integrator. The Integrator promotes a very specific force to leverage areas of the spine. The intent of the adjustments is to realign the spine and reduce the overall tension or interference in the nerve system. This allows normal function to return to the body. The more specific the adjustment with the least necessary amount of force allows the body to accept the correction more readily. We adjust extremeties, shoulders, knees, feet, and elbows using an instrument called the Arthrostim.
Our patients appreciate that our adjustments are relaxing and do not involve rigid or hard motions. The whole process of getting adjusted is a pleasant experience. Using less force does not imply it will take longer for you to feel relief and recover. Frequently, relief is experienced in very few adjustments. Rescans and post X-Rays show remarkable and objective improvements to the spine and nerve system.
The Integrator instrument was purpose designed and built to reproduce what the hands intend to achieve during a Chiropractic Adjustment. Originally it was manufactured for use in scientific research and when the dramatic health benefits were measured overwhelming demand lead to its use in private practice.
The attributes that make an Integrator adjustment something special and powerful are:
PRECISE: When using an Integrator we can pinpoint the exact point on the spine that requires adjustment of nerve function.
SPECIFIC: The force, frequency of energy, torque, speed and thrust provided by the Integrator have all been tailor-made to deliver the perfect amount of energy to help normalize nerve function.
GENTLE: An Integrator adjustment can be delivered with the spine in a perfectly relaxed position with a controlled amount of force.
FAST: The incredibly fast but shallow impulse is one of the secrets to the effectiveness of this adjustment and the reason for it being so gentle.
RECOIL: Another of the secret ingredients built into the Integrator is recoil: This bounce in the impulse increases the body’s nerve system response.
TORQUE: Subatomic particles, atoms, muscles, and human bodies all move in three dimensions: The three-dimensional impulse of the Integrator maximizes the effectiveness on the human body.
EFFECTIVE: The benefits of Integrator adjustments have been measured by scientific research and this research has been published in major peer-reviewed medical journals.
RELIABLE: The way that the Integrator delivers an adjustment is very consistent and reliable so that the right amount of force and energy is transmitted on each and every adjustment.
CONSISTENT: The assessment, examination and adjustments that are used in TRT are standardized which means that several practitioners using the same method can deliver the same results and experience.
RECOGNIZED: The Integrator is patented for the correction of Subluxations
Adjustments in our clinic help to directly reduce the negative neurological effects of stress on our bodies.
Arthrostim
The Arthrostim Instrument is the most recent, advanced "State of the Art" adjustment tool available! It delivers 12-14 incremental thrusts per second. By dividing the energy of a single thrust (whether by hand or instrument) into rapid successive input, the Arthrostim modulates force and allows an extremely comfortable, highly effective adjustment.
The Arthrostim Instrument permits your practitioner to maintain the effectiveness of your adjustment while reducing the amount of force that is applied. This dynamic combination allows the practitioner to comfortably manage a wider range of conditions.
Individuals that may especially benefit from the use of the Arthrostim Instrument include:

· infants and young children
· individuals in acute pain
· particularly sensitive individuals
· individuals who dislike being 'cracked'
· elderly individuals
Dr. Dorland may use the Arthrostim Instrument by itself or in combination with other adjusting methods, depending on the approach he feels is best for your specific case.
