What is B.E.S.T.? Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique For Self-directed Health and Healing

Disease is usually associated with the body doing something it is designed to do, but at the wrong time. The B.E.S.T. technique synchronizes the body. All body systems (immune, cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive, respiratory, excretory, nervous, etc.) are balanced and the body begins to respond to stimulation from your environment, internally and externally, according to present need.

How It Works

The B.E.S.T. procedure addresses the whole person, not just a condition or specific part. We are three-dimensional beings, a body, a mind, and a spirit. The B.E.S.T. procedure restores “coherence” to these three levels. Pain and disease are associated with a lack of coherence, or communication, at these levels. Psycho neuroimmunology is a developing field that recognizes that the mind (psycho) affects the nervous system (neuro) and thus the immune system (immunology).

B.E.S.T. is the most advanced mind/body therapy available. Only one thing stands between you and perfect health, happiness and success, in all areas of your life: interference. Dr. Dorland doesn’t treat conditions but rather people with conditions. The goal is to remove interference, so the body can do what it is designed to do, which is to heal itself. Everyone has a certain potential for health. When you eliminate interference, that potential can begin to express. You can’t force healing. To heal, you must allow the body time to respond to your better choices in what we call:


  • What you eat
  • What you drink
  • What you breathe
  • How you exercise
  • How you rest
  • How you think (by far, the most important)

The Procedure

You’ll start laying face-up flat on a table. Then with muscle testing on your feet and arms, Dr. Dorland will be evaluating how you are handling everyday stress, and find the underlying stresses that are preventing you from feeling optimum health.

During the adjustment, Dr. Dorland may have you do different breathing patterns that will engage certain sections of the nervous system. One of the common breathing patterns is rhythmic breathing a.k.a. “four square breathing”, where you’ll inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath in for another count of 4, exhale for 4, and then hold that exhale for 4, then continue that four-square cycle. You’ll also be fixing your gaze at different directions to engage higher brain centers; pressure points will be gently touched on your head, or sometimes you’ll be laying face-down and pressure points on your neck and down to your legs will be gently pressed. This will allow the pulsations under the pressure points to be in sync (people out of balance have pulsations out of sync.)

The most important part of the adjustment is the memories that will come up. During the procedure, you’ll be thinking of certain events that stressed you or traumatized you. These negative memories are what usually causes your nervous system to go out of homeostasis, which leads to the downward spiral of dis-ease. By the end of the session, your unconscious will process these memories so they no longer become a burden on your health.
